Lake Urus — Hidden Lake

A lake few people know but the villagers. From Pashpa, at the mouth of the Ishinca valley, the trail climbs gently through open farmland with the giants Huascarán, Copa and Vallunaraju across the valley. It then enters an ancient quenual forest and steepens for the last hour, ending at a lake almost hidden at the foot of Urus, ringed by sheer rock. Lunch by the water, then back down the same way.
