Cordillera Negra Hike

From the pass of Punta Callan at 4225m the whole Cordillera Blanca lines up in front of you — peaks, glaciers and steep-walled valleys, end to end. We drive up through small villages, then walk easily downhill on local trails past farms and houses. In July and August it is harvest time, and the hillsides are busy with people gathering crops. Prefer not to walk? We can drive to the saddle, take in the views toward the mountains, Huaraz and out to the Pacific, and return.
