Run by the Morales family

Why Peruvian Andes Adventures

A caring, professional and above all safe service, at a fair price. We are a Huaraz family that has guided the Cordillera Blanca and Huayhuash since foreign climbers first arrived in the 60s. Small groups, UIAGM guides, and the attention to detail you only get when the people who run the agency are the people on the mountain with you.

Quality assurance

ISO 9001 certified — two agencies in Ancash, we are one

We put our service through a demanding external audit and passed it: safety procedures, kitchen hygiene, equipment, administration. Of all the agencies in the Ancash region, only two hold ISO 9001 certification. We are one of them.

ISO 9001 certification

Independent validation of our safety lines, high-altitude food hygiene and transparent administration.

ISO 9001 certification
Staff Readiness

Wilderness First Responder & yearly team training

Before every season we run compulsory training for our guides, porters, cooks and donkey drivers, so the standard never slips. The directors hold advanced Wilderness First Responder rescue qualifications.

Advanced CPR and resuscitation

Wilderness trauma assessment and stabilisation

Strict altitude-sickness protocols

Mountain Fine Dining

Eating well at 4,000 metres

Good food is not a luxury on a hard trek — it is how your body keeps going. Our cooks prepare fresh, generous meals that clients remember long after the summit, and adapt them to whatever you do not eat.

Breakfast

Porridge, quinoa or hot cereals, eggs, pancakes or toast with jam, tea and hot chocolate.

Trail lunch

Freshly cooked protein, good carbohydrates and fresh vegetables, with hot herbal teas.

Three-course dinner

A hot soup to start, then a main such as fresh trout or filet mignon, and fresh fruit to finish.

Security Advisory

A word about budget operators

Mountain services in Huaraz are barely regulated. The cheapest operators compete on price by sending unlicensed staff, or porters, out as guides — which puts clients at real risk and can void your travel insurance. We will never be the cheapest, and we will tell you exactly why.

How to verify your operator:

  • Check the agency holds a valid regional tourism licence and an active SUNAT tax registration.
  • Ask for certified UIAGM / IFMGA credentials for every lead guide.
  • Confirm proper hygiene and water-boiling practices in the field.
Industry Press Report

"...they are at the mercy of unregulated local mountaineering agencies that typically compete on price rather than safety. Reputable guides warn that cowboy operators routinely risk unnecessary injuries, including fatalities."
