Santa Cruz Trek with Three Peaks in the Ishinca Valley — 12 Days
Duration
12 Days (plus a rest day in Huaraz)Best Season
May - Sept
A great programme combining the scenic Santa Cruz – Llanganuco trek with two exciting climbs based around the Llanganuco lakes: the beginner-suitable Pisco (5753m) and the steeper, less-frequented Yanapaccha (5460m).
The trek gives ideal acclimatisation, and both peaks sit amongst the biggest mountains of the Cordillera Blanca.

5753mPisco is the gentler, beginner-suitable peak; Yanapaccha is steeper and more technical, with a final slope to 65°, and is not suitable for first-time climbers. The 11-day option gives a day and a half of rest at Cebollapampa between the two climbs; the 10-day a half-day rest.
The 11-day option is more relaxed, with a day and a half of rest and recovery at Cebollapampa between the two climbs; the 10-day has a half-day rest.
The Santa Cruz trek gives good acclimatisation for both climbs. The approaches to the Morena camps are on steep, loose moraine where you carry your own gear.

Routes and conditions change year to year and even month to month as glaciers recede, so our descriptions are general only and may differ on the day. If reports from previous groups indicate unstable or dangerous conditions, we may recommend an alternative climb. The final decision on safety rests with your Peruvian Andes Adventures guide.
