Why not pair a Cordillera Blanca or Cordillera Huayhuash trek with a climb? Start with a relaxed walk through varied, spectacular mountain scenery, then take on the challenge of one or more Peruvian Andes summits. The trekking days do the quiet work for you: they build acclimatisation and the strength your legs will need higher up.
We run a range of trek-and-climb combinations. Some peaks suit first-time climbers who want to be taught the basics; others hold real technical climbing for experienced mountaineers. There is something here for everyone — and a sensible step up from one to the next.
The combinations below are only a starting point. There are many more, and every one of them is flexible. Hisao and Eli Morales will sit down with you and design a tailor-made programme — any trek circuit, any peaks you would like to climb — built around your experience and what you want from the trip.
On the trek: Donkeys carry the tents, the kitchen, the food and your kit bag. You walk with a light daypack — camera, snacks, water, a warm jacket. Our guides and crew know how to move at altitude: we walk slowly, rest often, and keep you supplied with plenty of boiled water to drink.
On the climb: Every ascent is led by a qualified, licensed UIAGM mountain guide, backed by licensed assistant guides and experienced climbing porters. Donkeys carry the gear to base camp; where there is a high camp, porters take up the tents, the climbing rope and the food. You can hire a private porter if you would rather not carry your own equipment.
