About this day
Into a remote valley close under the mountains, to pre-Inca ruins and a waterfall hidden in the trees. We drive up through Parihuanca and small farming villages to a wide green pampa high in the hills, with Copa, Urus and Vallunaraju near at hand, then walk thirty minutes up to the famous water falls. On the way back, the Wari-era temple ruins at Honcopampa, where you are left wondering how they lifted such enormous stones into the roof and lunch on the grass. Time and inclination allowing, a soak in the thermal baths of Monterrey to finish.
