Honcopampa Ruins & Waterfall

Into a remote valley close under the mountains, to pre-Inca ruins and a waterfall hidden in the trees. We drive up through Parihuanca and small farming villages to a wide green pampa high in the hills, with Copa, Urus and Vallunaraju near at hand, then walk thirty minutes up to the falls. On the way back, the Wari-era temple ruins at Honcopampa — where you are left wondering how they lifted such enormous stones into the roof — and lunch on the grass. Time and inclination allowing, a soak in the thermal baths of Monterrey to finish.
