Laguna Ahuac Hike

A little-known lake hidden high behind Huaraz at the foot of Vallunaraju, where we are almost certain to have the trail to ourselves. A half-hour drive to the Wilcahuaín ruins, then a steady climb on a wide grassy path through farmland, steepening until you crest a rock wall and the bright blue lake at 4560m appears all at once. If time allows on the way back, we visit the ruins.
